The Highest Princess

You wander between
The viaducts of my dreams
And I see the true you
That not all can see
And I appreciate
The gift
That you are to me
Is it possible to know
A love
Another
So intimately?

I see you
In such light
And clarity
Even
I feel
The universe
Can fault
And place
It's envy on me

We are child like
In an adult world
Blessed with a knowledge
Learned through lifetimes I'm sure
And I say to the highest good
How oh life
Can the highest princess
Be adorned
Does the highest prince
Have to lay
By her feet
His cross and his sword?

And I know you deserve more
The happiness of scores
And the councils of cosmic fate
Advise me I'm wrong
To keep you in wait
Like the knocks upon doors
When we've lied in wait
And died each day before.
